Basic Computer Lessons

If you are a business owner then without a doubt your first choice for the induction of workers in the company will be computer oriented and skilled employees. Basic computer knowledge and basic computer lessons and training have become a basic requirement for any business’s employee training program. Some business’s may require basic computer skills and knowledge be displayed before hiring an employee. Basic computer lessons can be specialized or general. Even if an employee is hired on with basic computer skills, those employees may require basic computer lessons on a particular operation, method, software or hardware the company uses or plans to use in the future. Some career fields that will require basic computer lessons includes administrative assistants, banking, industrial and medical positions.

Every organization wants to have computer skilled workers. In response computer training centers or schools provide basic computer lessons and training. Some of these training centers are contracted by companies and others are located within local universities and community colleges. The most important thing to consider for a person requiring basic computer lessons should be the standard of education of the institute or school providing the instruction. Standard of education depends on numerous factors but the most important is the curriculum and presentation of the basic computer lessons and how much the student absorbs and is able to demonstrate.

When looking at a schools curriculum for basic computer lessons it is important to consider the contents and sequence of the basic computer lessons.

(c) Introduction to Keyboard

(d) Attached accessories with computer like speaker and printer

(e) On and off of computer

2. Basic Computer Lesson about Software

It includes the following:

(a) Desktop and desktop items like icons, menu, taskbar and toolbar

(b) Introduction to Operating Systems Windows etc.

(c) Opening, closing and saving of a program

3. Basic Computer Lesson about Microsoft Office

It should contain basic applications of MS office like Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc. The trainee must know about the use of mouse before starting of classes.

(a) Word Basics must contain text writing and formatting, aligning paragraphs and management of line spacing, inserting tables, commands of Cut/Copy/Paste and use of Undo/Redo.

(b) It should be of an introductory level class to the use of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. The whole class time should be spent on basics of spreadsheet and other Excel’s related terminology. In the subsequent classes, the participants should have a practical familiarity of creating and editing a spreadsheet and how to perform mathematical applications and general configure techniques.

(c) In class of PowerPoint the trainee should be familiarized about making a presentation, showing pictures, and graph and text data in the slides with suitable animations.

4. Basic Computer Lesson about Web

Theses classes should explain detailed introduction and use of internet and obtaining of information through it. It should have the following contents.

(a) Introduction to internet

(b) How to make internet account

(c) Typing an Internet address into the Address Bar

(d) Use of basic search engines like MSN, Yahoo, Google etc

(e) Evaluating the information obtained on net

(f) Learning of options of advanced search engine

(g) Searching for images and videos

(h) Reviewing the sites containing specified information

(i) Composing of an e-mail address

(j) Typing, sending, receiving, forwarding and deleting an e-mail

(k) Reviewing a typical sign-up process

(l) Job searching on internet

(m) Use of internet libraries, searching book catalogue and reference data base

(n) Introduction to chatting.
